The Unión Deportiva Las Palmas continued their strong start to the season with a good point away to Alavés.
UDLP dominated from the start of the match, but it was Alavés who struck first, with a slightly fortunate goal coming from winger Rebbach in the 24th minute.
The game saw UDLP with the majority of possession throughout the game and were finally rewarded for their efforts with a fantastic goal, which was finished off by La Liga Smartbank's joint top scorer, Marc Cardona.
Alavés continuously tried to stop UDLP playing the football in which they desired, with 26 fouls across the entire game. But, UDLP were the only team to receive a card, in a game full of dubious refereeing decisions. UDLP were denied a penalty on Mfulu, which was ignored by both the officials on the pitch and those in the VAR room.
UDLP welcome a struggling Leganes on Friday the 9th September at 20:00. Leganes sit 18th in the table after a win against Eibar on Friday, whilst UDLP are 3rd in the table after Granada lost to Andorra, whilst Albacete beat Malaga to top the table.
