Chichizola, Herrera, M. Lemos, Ximo Navarro, Michel Macedo, Aquilani, J. Castellano, Tana, Viera, Tannane, Calleri.

This was the starting line up at the last league game I attended, Las Palmas v Leganes in September 2017. To say the squad has undergone a huge change in 13 months is an understatement. The starting line up v Real Mallorca this weekend had one survivor... J. Castellano. The club had a say in the futures of 46 players in the summer, surely this is some sort of record? One hugely visible thing from recent matches this season is the consistency with the back 5. Raul Fernandez, A. Lemos, De La Bella, David leyenda Garcia and Juan Cala. The midfield seems to be 3 from 4 and we have seen 'el Tridente' in the last 2 games. Ruben Castro, big Rafa Mir and Sergio Araujo.

So what are my thoughts after the Mallorca game? Well with el Tridente, would we miss something in midfield? Can the 3 cover the ground? Would Araujo track back?

What a start. Early goals from Rafa Mir and Ruben see us 2-0 up in 14 mins. From then on we didn't look like scoring again until it was too late. 2 quick goals from the home side on the stroke of half time see us go in for the break with the scores level. How? The second half saw the rain come that had threatened the game for so long.

The umbrellas went up and the game came back to life around the 65 min mark. First Ruben was denied 1 on 1 by the keeper. Then Araujo dragged his finish beyond the far post from almost the same position. It was not going to be our day.... The last minute of injury time sees a cross fall at Ruben's feet and the net bulge, GOL!! But no. The ref had spotted an infringement. From the other end of the pitch we assumed offside. After the game it became clear the ref saw an apparent handball from Araujo and this was the reason for the goal being disallowed.

A point is better than none.

We go again. But it was an entertaining game to attend.

As I'm sat in the airport in Mallorca waiting to fly to England I am already counting down the days until the Derbi.

Nos vemos en el Estadio de Gran Canaria en Diciembre!
